The September Hat is worked from the brim to the top in the round on circular needles in brioche stitch. Stitches are cast on using the Italian cast-on method to create a neat edge. The crown is shaped with decreases. Note that the hat is worked holding one strand of Sunday and two strands of Tynn Silk Mohair throughout (you can substitute for another yarn that gives the correct gauge).

When working brioche stitch in the round on circular needles, the brioche stitches will alternate every other round, so they are worked in brioche-knit every other round, while the opposite rounds are worked in brioche-purl.

With the correct gauge, the hat is 23 (23) cm [9 (9) inches] wide, when lying flat and lightly pressed to the sides.

Sizes: Fits head circumference of 54–56 (56–58) cm [21¼–22 (22–22¾) inches]

Gauge: 12 sts x 38 rows = 10 x 10 cm [4 x 4 inches] in brioche stitch with one strand of each yarn on 4,5 mm [US7] needles, measured while lightly pushing the swatch out to the sides (slightly stretched)

Needles: Circular needles: 4.5 mm [US7] / 40 cm [16 inches]

Double-pointed needles: 4.5 mm [US7] (unless the Magic Loop technique is used)

Materials: 50 (50) g Sunday by Sandnes Garn (50 g = 235 m [257 yds])
held together with 50 (50) g Tynn Silk Mohair by Sandnes Garn (25 g = 212 m [232 yds]), optionally a thin elastic thread (knitting-in elastic). Note: one strand of Sunday and two strands of Tynn Silk Mohair are held together throughout the pattern and the given yardage amounts are the total yardage needed.

The striped September Hat is knitted in Sunday (Kitt) from Sandnes Yarn and colored stripes made with two threads of Silk Mohair from Isager Yarn (color: 0, 62 and 59)
Stripe 1: pink + pink (4 cm)
Stripe 2: pink + offwhite (9 cm)
Stripe 3: offwhite + offwhite (9 cm)
Stripe 4: offwhite + yellow (5 cm)
Stripe 5: yellow + yellow (5 cm)

The purple September Hat is knitted in Sunday from Sandnes Yarn in the color Støvet Lilla 4631 and Tynn Silk Mohair in the colour Støvet Syren 4631.

The brown September Hat is knitted in Sunday (Camel) and Tynn Silk Mohair (Brunt sukker)from Sandnes Garn.
