Step into the cozy embrace of Filcolana’s Fall / Winter 2023 collection Nordic Design. The Danish Filcolana yarn house team, inspired by the exhibition on architect Verner Panton, designed a knit collection that channels the spirit of Nordic furniture design and architecture.

Photographed at the 1939 Vilhelm Lauritzen Terminal at Copenhagen Airport, each knitted piece tells a story of creative exploration. Filcolana’s knitting collection isn't just about yarn and stitches; the harmonious dance of colors and forms against the backdrop of design history invites you to witness the magic where past and present collide. So, cozy up and get ready for a vibe that's as warm and inviting as your favorite sweater.

Hip To Be Square Sweater, Design Katja Dyrberg // PopKnit

This sweater, using the entrelac technique, is inspired by Bruno Mathsson’s Eva chair. The soft and luxurious blend of Filcolana Tilia silk mohair and glitter yarn Paia accentuates the wicker pattern, while exuding comfort, softness, and elegance – just like the chair.

Tyra Sweater, Design Sanne Bjerregaard

Tyra Lundgren was the first female artist at the Kosta Boda glassworks and paved the way for other female designers and artists in the field of glass production. This short sweater knitted in Filcolana Tilia silk mohair and Peruvian Highland Wool features ribbed cuffs in the colour of the glowing molten glass shaped by the glassblowers.

Marble Sweater, Design Sanne Fjalland

Marble for Peruvian Highland Wool is a simple design, but the sweater features monumental, feminine, slouchy sleeves that give it character. The inspiration comes from Modernism, which took hold of Danish society, including its architects, around 1930.

Element Sweater, Design Sanne Fjalland

The inspiration for the Element sweater is taken from a quote by the architect Bodil Kjær: ‘Furniture is, for me, a frame around the human being, a place where one can take it easy, relax, and really feel comfortable. Knitted in marzipan beige Peruvian Highland Wool, Element is a soft sweater that you just want to move into and be enveloped by.

The pattern collection consists of 27 designs for adults and children.
