Inspiraatio,

Inspiration for summer knits

Julkaistu: 28.07.2022

July is coming to an end, but summer still continues! We gathered here a few of our favourite summer knits that we made.

The first one is Piia’s  Palme Tee. Designed by Lene Holme Samsoe, this is a romantic lace top. Piia knitted hers from Line, that the pattern calls for in the new colorway 7720 Blue Mint. For the small size, she used 6 skeins. If you are looking for a delicate lace top, this is a lovely option.

Siina knit the Peacock Tee by the same designer. This design can almost be called a classic, we’ve made so many of them and we’ve seen so many made. And no wonder, it’s a pattern with a simple, yet stylish feather and fan lace. Siina modified hers to fit Tynn Line, the original is designed for Line. It took only 3 skeins, she used color 1099.

The Lace Topp from Sandnes Garn caught Emmi’s attention. She made hers from Lana Gatto Fresh, held single The pattern is originally written as a bottom up construction, but Emmi reverse engineered it and knit it top down. The original pattern is in the  1908 Sommer dame booklet.

If you are looking for something thicker to knit, try the novelty yarn Tykk Line from Sandnes Garn. Kati knit the Monpellier Top from it. Ane Fiskum Sunde’s design turned out to be a small Instagram hit and we certainly love it. We already made five! Two are knitted by Kati, another two by Milja and one by Siina. It is a simple, but very wearable design. Kati used Tykk Line in the colorway 8532 for this one.

If you love a bit of a challenge, knit the Seleste Tee! It indeed has a few bobbles, but they are actually easy to knit. I think I finished the yoke in no time, after that it’s just stockinette mostly. If you’d like to knit a Seleste, read our blog post about it and the yarn I used. I use Morning Salutation Vegan yarn, which in my humble opinion is really one of the best summer yarns out there. I used the color Gold.

Milja has been really busy, knitting six summer tops! This is Camisole No 6, knitted from Ito Kinu and Coast. For the XS size you need only 1 cone of Ito Kinu (shown in Aqua) and 1 ball of Coast (shown in Ecru.) The top is designed by Louise from My Favourite Things Knitwear. She also has other cool designs.

Lastly a photo of Milja’s Camisole No 5 -top, that is knitted from Lana Gatto Fresh, in the colorway Lilac 8711. I could knit all of these myself too, well actually I did already knit a Peacock Tee. Maybe next I’ll cast on a Camisole No.6.

Hopefully you’ll find inspiration from these for your summer wardrobe and make some lasting knit! Remember our summer yarn sale! Plenty of yarns now -40 % off.
