TII PULLOVER by Joji Locatelli for Tukuwool DK

Julkaistu: 02.03.2022

An unexpected surprise - indeed it was. I met Joji back in 2014 in Brighton, at the Unwind yarn festival. We were both a bit lost and overwhelmed with all the yarn and knit stars around us. Those days were memorable and connected us.

I always admired Joji and keep wondering from where she draws her ideas. Like this Tii pullover — which is named after me (of course I cried a river when I heard about it) — a simple sweater with a fun and unexpected twist at the end. “I've always been intrigued by sweater construction. I like to explore, to have fun, creating garments in different ways, not necessarily making things more complicated,” says Joji about the designing process.  The sweater is knitted in two parts and the final touch is an I-cord that weaves both halves together. This pattern is also beginner friendly.

Joji has used our Tukuwool DK in an undyed grey colorway, Auri. You can also challenge yourself to use some colours. If you feel wild, choose different colours for each side and a third one for the I-cord! Tukuwool DK has almost 30 beautiful colors to choose from, neutrals, muted warm shades and bright ones, so there are good options for all tastes.

For the Tii pullover you need 300-700 grams of Tukuwool DK depending on the size. The pattern has 10 sizes. I made mine in size 4 and the sweater weighs 350 g. Not much at all and it knits up really fast. My version is knitted with the color Selja.

I’m already planning a second tunic length one. I’ll knit it probably from my all time favourite color Nila or with 3 different shades.
